*Purple Globe Thistle

*Purple Globe Thistle
The national emblem of Scotland, a thistle is said to have saved an entire Scottish army. During the Vikings invasion of Scotland, an enemy stepped on a thistle and cried out in pain inadvertently waking the sleeping Scotsmen. Now this thistle, perfectly embossed into our purple velvet, can forever more remind you, and all that behold it, of its enduring legend.

Emerald Celtic Knot

Emerald Celtic Knot
Much of the Celtic culture is lost to us now, and much of what survives comes not from written documents, but in the form of their astonishing stone and metal artwork. The knot is a symbol of binding together of the simple and the complex: the line and the curve; the mental and the physical; the tame and the wild.

*Seagreen Lone Wolf

Seagreen Lone Wolf
Many ancient civilizations paired wolves with the moon in images and literature, which eventually evolved into today's belief that wolves howl at the moon. Norse mythology tells of a pair of wolves that chase the moon and the sun to summon night and day. The Native American Seneca tribes believe that a wolf sung the moon into existence.

*Purple Wild Thistle

Purple Wild Thistle
There is nothing tame or cultivated about a thistle. Have you ever attempted to remove a thistle plant from your garden? I have tried: I cut it; I dug it; I dug some more; I poured boiling water on it; I poured vinegar on it. Come the following spring, inevitably, little spiky green shoots would appear where the thistle, that I thought to be destroyed the previous year, used to be. After many years of attempting to remove these spiky green-folks I actually studied them, made a drawing and carved the image you'll find here. My testament to the indomitable wild thistle!
